Area Meets & Tournaments

Local area/county meets & tournaments are held in each of the sports offered at the end of each Sport Season.

Out-Of-Town Meets & Tournaments

Athletes have the opportunity to travel to other areas throughout Southern California to compete in out-of-town meets and tournaments in various sports during the year.

Chapter Games are multi-sports meets held by Special Olympics Southern California. The Special Olympics Southern California Summers Games are held each year in June and involve the spring and summer sports. Fall Games are held in the fall for the various fall sports.

The Special Olympics Southern California Floor Hockey Championship is hosted each year at the San Diego Convention Center. Over 70 floor hockey teams come from throughout Southern California.

Special Olympics San Diego County sends many of our Special Olympics athletes to these various Chapter Games and Championships. These athletes enjoy not only the sports competition, but also the dances, movies, sports clinics, and celebrities.

World Summer and Winter Games are scheduled every four years and involve the United States and over 150 foreign countries.

The next World Special Olympics Games will be held in Boise, Idaho in 2009.
